The Zia Symbol
The Zia Pueblo people recognized the recurrence of the number four in the patterns of nature and life, and found significance in the balance it represented to them. This informed their art, symbolism, and the Zia's belief that with life comes four sacred obligations: a strong body, a clear mind, a pure spirit, and a devotion to the welfare of others.
In addition, our variation on the symbol reminds our chef and owner, Kevin W. Grant, of the time he spent in Albuquerque and the Sandia Mountains, and how living there reinforced his love of Mexican, Southwestern, and Tex-Mex cuisine.
