The Concept

Zia is an authentic Mexican taqueria providing high-quality, moderately priced, regional Mexican food and beverage using only natural ingredients. We view ourselves as partners with our customers, employees, community, and environment. We take great pride in creating our food and are always open to recommendations and suggestions from our customers. We are here to assist you with any questions you may have about Zia Taqueria or Mexican, Southwestern, and Tex-Mex cuisine in general. Thank you so much for your support.

The Zia Symbol

Zia
“I salute the flag of the State of New Mexico and the Zia symbol of perfect friendship among united cultures.” — New Mexico state pledge
Kevin Grant

The Zia Pueblo people recognized the recurrence of the number four in the patterns of nature and life, and found significance in the balance it represented to them. This informed their art, symbolism, and the Zia's belief that with life comes four sacred obligations: a strong body, a clear mind, a pure spirit, and a devotion to the welfare of others.

In addition, our variation on the symbol reminds our founding chef and owner, Kevin W. Grant, of the time he spent in Albuquerque and the Sandia Mountains, and how living there reinforced his love of Mexican, Southwestern, and Tex-Mex cuisine.
